                                                                     About ADI

I was born and raised in India.  As a young man, I migrated to the United
States, became a citizen, and settled here.

In my youth, I considered Gandhi as my guru. I followed him so closely that
by the time I had finished college, I had done almost everything spiritually he
had done in his life. The central philosophy of my life was simple living and
high thinking.

My lifestyle took a one hundred and eighty degree turn in 1971 when I found
a living master. Meditation became the center of my life.  Instead of high
thinking, my focus became about going beyond thinking.

Here in the United States, I taught meditation to small groups of people,
giving talks and occasionally conducting workshops and seminars.  I helped
hundreds of individuals overcome habits and become more relaxed and
centered.

A few years ago, I became severely depressed.  At one point I seriously
considered suicide.  My doctor suggested medication; I refused it. My ex-wife
got me some homeopathic medicine. Until I felt I was completely cured, I kept
that bottle in my medicine cabinet but never once did I open it. It was
meditation and the taped voice of my master that helped me slowly come out
of that state.  When I felt completely well again, I had a strong urge “to leave
something for others.  Something that might help them just like meditation
and the voice of my master helped me.” So I started writing a book with a
hope it will help some people.  With love, gratitude, and blessings in my
heart, I present to you:
